True, you won’t find many of the citrus groves that gave Orange County (OC) its name, but you will find pleasant weather, suburban communities, entertainment attractions, and beautiful beaches stretching along 40 miles of Pacific coastline. As the sixth most populous county in the U.S., Orange County spans over 947 square miles.
The region is also a transit hub, thanks to John Wayne Airport and Metrolink, a commuter train running throughout the county. Scores of attractions keep residents busy, whether it’s theme parks like Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm, professional sports teams (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Anaheim Ducks), championship golf courses, or luxury shopping at South Coast Plaza—California’s largest mall. Orange County lies about 30 miles south of Los Angeles.
